She recently returned to HSE as a Noise and Vibration Specialist Inspector. Sue Hewitt worked as a research scientist at the HSE’s Science Division for 33 years before leaving to work in a private consultancy. This talk describes a long term HSE vibration research project which reveals some of the reasons why manufacturers' declared vibration emission data may or may not reflect typical in-use magnitudes.
